Summary: The Duer Hot Springs are regarded as one of the most beautiful hot natural hot springs in the Himalayas. The Trek is a highly demanding one and a part of the route is shared by the testing and arduous Snowman Trek. The trek is full of steep ascents and descents and is ranked amongst the toughest treks in Bhutan.
Duer-Gorsum. Distance 18 Kilometers, Trekking Time 6-7 hours, 360 meter ascent
The trek begins along the Yoleng Chu River, which is known for its abundant trout population. The trail to Gorsum is a slow and gradual climb.
Gorsum-Lungsum . Distance 12 Kilometers, Trekking Time 5 hours, 40 meter ascent.
The trail continues through a dense Spruce, Hemlock, Cypressm Juniper and Maple forest. The trail continues to climb gradually to the campsite at Lungsum.
Lungsum- Tsochenchen. Distance 15 Kilometers, trekking Time 6-7 hours, 620 meter ascent
We will continue our ascent through the dense jungles up to our campsite at 3780 meter just above the tree line.
Tsochenchen- DuerTsachu. Distance 18 Kilometers, Trekking Time 8-9 hours, 1340 meter ascent and 1530 meter decent.
This is the hardest day of the trek so far as we being our trek from Tsochenchen up to the Juli La pass at an altitude of 4,700 meters. On a clear day you can take in a breath taking view of the surrounding mountain ranges and the valley below. You will then descend to a lake at 4220meter, before you climb up to the Gokthong La pass which is at 4640 meters above sea level. You will begin a steep descent from the pass down into the valley to reach the DuerTsachuhotsprings. En route you might encounter the Musk Deer, Blue Sheep and the Himalayan Black Bear.

After a late breakfast you can either relax in the hot springs or take a hike in the surrounding areas.
DuerTsachu- Tsochenchen. Distance 18 kilometers, Trekking Time 8-9 hours, 1530 meter ascent , 1340 meter decent.
We now being the return leg of our trip. As we retrace the route we took on day 4 back to Tsochenchen. This is the hardest day of the trek as there are 2 steep ascents along the way.
Tsochenchen-Lungsum. Distance 15 Kilometers, trekking Time 6-7 hours, 620 meter decent.
We will again reenter the dense alpine forests along the same trail we took on day 3 of the trek to reach Lungsum.
Lungsum – Gorsum. Distance 23 Kilometers, Trekking Time 5 hours, 6200 meter descent.
The trail the slowly winds down the forests to our final campsite at Gorsum.
Gorsum - Duer Village. Distance 18 Kilometer, Trekking Time 6 hours, 380 meters
From Gorsum our trail descends gradually till the road had located near the Duer village
